Advance enjoys the reputation as paragliding's Rolls Royce. All gliders are
the result of a 3 year development cycle which allows total refinement of performance,
handling and safety. Advance construct the gliders from the best Porcher Marine
Skytex nylon throughout and the best Liros lines. Heavy duty cross stitching,
extra Mylar tapes at leading and trailing edges give unmatched durability and
totally internal stitching is the industry standard.
Many Advance gliders are seen in use with over 500 hours on them. If you can
find a better made glider at any price, buy it!
Available now, the Alpha3 offers more performance and agility than it's predecessor to fill the gap between it and the Epsilon5. The Alpha3 is more appealing to first-time buyers and is much more than a 'school glider'. Mike Kung is said to appreciate it's easy launch and super handling.
The BiBeta3 is similary improved over the BiBeta2 (which still holds the world open distance record) while being even easier to launch and fly. This glider is the choice of commercial tandem pilots everywhere. First gliders will ship in the summer.
The Omega7 is in certification phase. The comp protos the glider is based on have shown their prowess on the international scene. The new serial version has already flown a 248km FAI triangle and promises to continue the Omega dominance of the 2-3 sector going forward.
The Sigma6 is selling exceptionally well and is considered by many as the benchmark glider in it's class.
| Don't let the DHV 1 certification fool you,
this is a real glider, not just a school model. Performance is at Epsilon3
levels with agility to match. The Alpha3 carves turns like the best 1-2s. |
|
The new Epsilon5 is ready for the market. DHV testing has already been completed and the glider is now in full production. Download Advance's latest press release here.

The shape of the new Epsilon shows the same trend as the Sigma6; shorter
lines, higher aspect ratio, higher curvature. Advance themselves say: |
| The Sigma6 is selling in such volume that the factory is having a hard time keeping up with the demand for gliders. Aspect ratio is increased and best glide is improved to a class-leading 9:1. The glider is just as user-friendly as the Sigma5, while having lighter brake pressures, a more lively feel and faster response to brake input. Top speed is significantly improved and glide at high speed is very impressive indeed. |
|
The serial glider is now certified DHV 2-2 in sizes 26, 28 and 30 and gliders are in production. Size 24 will follow shortly. Thomas Ripplinger and his team have exploited the high arc concept seen in the competition gliders flown by Ewa Cieslewicz and Steve Cox in the last two seasons while creating a glider accessible to the usual Omega pilot's profile. In other words, the glider is based deeply in the technology of the competition prototypes but it is still possible for experienced cross-country pilots to make use of that performance.
|
The flat aspect ratio is increased to 6.3:1 and the
higher anhedral curve is quite pronounced. Performance figures are a top
speed of around 58km/h and a maximum glide of 10:1. In keeping with Advance's
recent policy, that glide number is dependant on the total aero package
chosen, so expect to see that kind of glide only with a full race harness.
A serial glider with 10:1 performance is of course a milestone. |
| The BiBeta3 is available in 2 sizes, 38 and
41qm offering capacities of 115~195kg and 135~225kg respectively. No more
agonizing over whether you can take that 45kg hottie up with you, or fighting
with a glider that's too big. |

This year's harnesses are the perfect complement to your Advance glider.
Due to concerns with aluminum carabiners in recent years, Advance harness now ship exclusively with 'Powerfly' stainless items.
| The new 2007 Impress competition harness. Features a removeable aero leg cover and a longer 'tail' for reduced drag. This model was developed with Chigrel Maurer and features a traditional H-brace system and a dorsal reserve pocket. The new harness is available now and in three sizes, S, M and L | ![]() ![]() |
|
The Progress' reserve is mounted
under the seat board for optimum weight distribution and lowest center
of gravity. Special foam back protector and PVC outer plate. Special triangulation
with the legs straps form the Diagonal Active System. |
| The Success has a thicker (16cm) foam back protector than the sporty Progress and Axess. The Success has options of reserve mounted under the seat, or a front mount. With the front mount setup, there's a cargo pocket that replaces it. You have the option of ordering either or both set ups. It also has a more conventional suspension system and a forget-me-not buckle/strap on the chest strap. |
